There’s a reason why Dark Mode is more commonly known as Night Mode. Select a pdf in the Finder and go File -> Get Info. On my iPad apps I do have 'iBooks', but can not update it becasue of it being a 1st generation iPad. This extension uses Mozillas pdf.js library to display PDF files in your browser. The Dark/Night Mode works pretty much the same in the Foxit Android app. Instantly download a PDF from Safari (or another app) Tap the share button > Open in GoodNotes.

There’s an Auto-Brightness feature with a slider that you can use for adjustments. You can also customize the text and background color. There are plenty of predefined background colors to choose from. All you need to do is tap the “View” icon and switch to Night Mode. For iOS supported devices, going to Dark Mode is very simple.
